Services and Pricing

How we work together.

Every engagement produces something you keep. A written assessment. A documented framework. A working system. And the prices are published, so you know what this costs before you get in touch.

These are founding client rates. The practice is new, the experience behind it is not. We are pricing our first engagements to earn a reference, and these rates hold for the full length of anything booked before the end of 2027. The published prices are starting points for smaller engagements. Larger organizations and public sector work are scoped separately.

What we do

Six ways in.

Clarity

Information Assessment

From $2,800

A map of how information actually moves through your business. What's stored where. What's duplicated. What's missing. What's sitting somewhere it shouldn't be. And where your obligations sit. You get a written assessment and a roadmap in priority order, which you can work through with us or on your own. Scoped to up to 25 people and 3 systems. Larger environments quoted after a look.

Consistency

Knowledge Management

From $3,800

The answer lives in somebody's head, and that somebody is on vacation. We capture what your team actually knows and put it somewhere findable. Lessons learned, so the same problem doesn't get solved twice from scratch. Process documentation written by the people who do the work rather than by a consultant guessing. A knowledge base that survives a resignation. This is the discipline we're certified in, and it's what we built for a 3,000-person command.

Consistency

Workspace Build-Out

From $6,500

You're paying for Microsoft 365 and using about a tenth of it. We build the rest. Document libraries, metadata and content types, permissions that make sense, and automated workflows for intake, approvals, and the compliance tasks that come around every quarter. Configured in your own tenant, so it's yours. You get the structure built, not a recommendation you're left to carry out yourself. Covers up to 6 document libraries, 3 automated workflows, and 25 users. Anything beyond that gets quoted once we've seen the scope.

Public sector

Agencies, Localities & Larger Organizations

Scoped

Retention obligations you didn't write, a records officer role somebody has to fill, and a Microsoft 365 environment that grew without a plan. We've done this work inside federal commands under audit, and the discipline transfers directly to state agencies, localities, school divisions, and any organization past the sizes above. Scoped after a conversation rather than priced from a list.

Confidence

Governance Retainer

From $1,200 / month

Structure decays. People join, projects end, somebody shares a folder to get through a deadline and nobody closes it again. We keep it current. Policy upkeep, a quarterly review of who has access to what, onboarding help as your team grows, and a standing line for questions. Three-month minimum, then month to month.

What an Information Assessment takes from you

Four weeks. About two hours of your time.

The worry isn't whether this works. It's whether it will eat your month. So here is what the engagement above actually costs you, in your own hours.

  • 2 hrsOf your time, total
  • 4Weeks start to finish
  • 0Days your team stops working

Week one. A kickoff with you and whoever actually handles the files day to day. About an hour. You show us what's there. Don't tidy up first. The mess is the information.

Weeks two and three. We work, mostly without you. We're reading structure, permissions, and where things really live. Expect around an hour of questions in total, in whatever form suits you.

Week four. You get the written assessment. Plain words, ranked by what's costing you the most rather than what's easiest for us to fix. We walk through it together and you decide what to act on.

Some clients take it from there and do the work themselves. That's a real outcome, and we'll tell you when it's the right one.

Who does the work

One person. That's the point.

No account manager sitting between you and the work.

The person who scopes your work is the person who does it. No junior consultant learning on your files, and no handoff to a delivery team you never met.

That also means we take a limited number of engagements at a time. If we say yes to you, it's because we can do it properly. If we're full, we'll tell you that instead of taking a deposit and stretching.

What to expect

How an engagement runs.

A consultant working at a desktop computer in a bright office

1. Conversation. A short call, no charge, to understand what's going on and whether we're a fit. If we're not, we'll tell you. Book 15 minutes →

2. Scope and quote. A written proposal with a fixed price, a defined deliverable, and a date. No hourly surprises.

3. The work. Assessment, design, or build, with checkpoints along the way so nothing is a surprise at the end.

4. Handover. Documentation written for your team, not for consultants. Plus a working session, so the structure actually gets used.

Payment and cancellation

Written down, so nobody has to ask.

How payment is staged

Most engagements are part paid at signing with the balance on delivery. Larger builds are staged against milestones you approve, rather than dates on a calendar. Your proposal sets the schedule before anything starts.

Invoices

Net 30 for commercial clients. Public sector clients are invoiced on the terms Virginia sets, which is 30 days for state agencies and 45 days for localities.

Changing your mind

Cancel after work has started and you're billed only for what's been completed, and you keep everything produced up to that point. The Clarity Session is refundable outright. Nothing here is designed to trap you in a contract.

Prices and terms on this page are indicative and are confirmed in a written proposal for each engagement. That proposal governs.

Not sure which one you need?

Most clients start with a Clarity Session. It's the fastest way to find out what's actually wrong, and it costs less than a day of guessing.

Not sure we're the right fit? Book a free 15 minute call, or email christy@linearwa.com and tell us what's going on. We'll tell you if we can help, and if we can't, we'll tell you that too.
